Call on youth groups to stop hindering development in Kirirom and Oral Mountain National parks

The Young Researchers Association has issued a statement calling on all youth groups to stop various campaigns that hinder the development of Kirirom and Oral Mountain National parks

The Young Researchers Association found that the Mother Nature movement of exiled activist Alejandro Gonzalez-Davidson submitted a petition to the Ministry of Environment on the morning of May 22, 2023, aimed at stopping the deforestation of Kirirom National Park and the Oral Mountains National Park, as well as disqualifying individuals of the right to manage Kirirom National Park.

The Young Researchers Association has found that the right to develop land in Suramarit Kosamak National Park “Kirirom” and Phnom Oral National Park is a legal right.

It further states that a small group of people is turning this problem away from research into chess to be used for political purposes on the government.”

The main purpose of the plans is to develop eco-tourism ecosystems to increase local income, create jobs, prevent deforestation, and especially increase eco-tourism conservation sites.

Therefore, the researchers conclude ‘On behalf of the Young Researchers Association, we call on all youth groups to stop campaigns that hinder the development of the country and stop incitement by other activities that lead to further confusion of the Royal Government.’
