Third ring road connecting National Road No. 4 to National Road No. 1 to be officially inaugurated on August 3

The third ring road connecting National Road No. 4 to National Road No. 1, located in Phnom Penh and Kandal Province, with a total length of nearly 53 kilometres with a construction budget of approximately $273 million, will be officially inaugurated on August 3, 2023, in the high presence of Prime Minister Hun Sen.

This was confirmed by Heang Sotheayut, spokesman and Director General of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

The third ring road is an important road to reduce traffic congestion and facilitate traffic in Phnom Penh, and also the internal connection and integration of special areas connecting ASEAN highways and major economic corridors of the Greater Mekong Subregion, contributing to facilitating cross-border transport, promoting international trade and turning the land on both sides of the ring road.

The Third Ring Road (National Road No. 4-National Road No. 1) is located in Phnom Penh and Kandal Province, with a total length of nearly 53 km, including more than 15 km through Phnom Penh and almost 38 km through Kandal Province, starting from km 14 + 105 of National Road No. 4 and ending at km 24 + 840 of National Road No. 1.

This road has a width of up to 27 meters for the city, for out of town, the width of the road is 25 meters. This road has street lights for urban roads and ornamental trees for suburban roads.

The third ring road has four flyovers (crossing National Roads 4, 3, 2, and 21) with a total length of 1,000 metres.

Construction of two bridges across the Bassac River at Anlong Chen Island with a total length of 996 metres (including the 630-metre-long East Bassac Bridge and the 366-metre-long West Bassac Bridge) Construction of six medium and short bridges and 113 sewers of all kinds.

The road cost a total of $273 million, which is a concessional financing from the Chinese government, and the Royal Government of Cambodia contributes to the impact of demining and unexploded ordnance, taxes and royalties. Fresh News
